We have been trained by a leading Japanese scissor manufacturer in order to provide a reputable and World Class quality sharpening service in the UK. We use traditional flat honing/ waterstone equipment developed by Japanese craftsmen over decades.

Keeping your scissors in pristine condition helps prolong their working life and also reduces the risk of developing repetitive strain injuries such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
Everybody wants to save money; the more scissors we service in one go, the less it costs per scissor.
From 1st March 2022, and in response to ever increasing business costs, we have made a modest increase to our prices. For customers with old packaging, we will honour those prices but please call us to make payment rather than using the Pay button below.

If you require a faster turn around and haven’t got time to wait for our packaging, please post your scissors directly to us. We strongly recommend using a tracked postal service such as Royal Mail Special Delivery.that gets your scissors to us next day Please pack your scissors in a padded envelope with your contact details and payment and send to: Clean-Cut, 7 Firth Row, Bradford. We use PayPal for secure payment processing. You do not necessarily need a PayPal account, simply choose “pay with card”.
We are based in Yorkshire/ Lancashire and County Durham/ Tyne and Wear areas; however, we operate throughout mainland UK. In an attempt to incorporate our travel expenses, our In-Salon service may be subject to a minimum number of scissors per visit, according to your location.
Each scissor takes approximately 15 minutes to service but this is dependant on the scissor condition and style of edge required (Japanese/ European).. To ensure that we are providing the highest levels of service, our clients can then try their scissors immediately for quality of workmanship.

Our machine is quiet (easily quieter than hairdryers) and quite safe and so we could be located in a public area. In fact we have found it to be a great talking point for clients, especially when discussing the cost of replacement scissors! .
During our in-salon service, you can receive professional scissor care advice, helping you get the very best out of your scissors for longer.

We, at Toni & Guy Exeter, have used the ‘In Salon’ service on two occasions. As hairdressers, we all know that our scissors are are very important to us (and expensive!) So to finally find someone, who you trust to maintain your scissors is fantastic! On the last visit to our salon, 20 pairs of scissors were sharpened, and everyone was happy with the service! After dropping a pair of well loved scissors i thought they were beyond repair, so after debating should i buy a new pair i decided to see if they could be fixed, i rang the guys at clean-cut and was ever so pleased that they would come to my home as they do call out service. believe me i thought they were destroyed beyond repair and also did he.
